The Volvo Ocean Race (formerly known as the Whitbread Round the World Race) is a grueling test of man against nature, pushing the yachts and crews to their ultimate limits as they sprint through the most treacherous oceans on the planet.

Fort Lauderdale has been the North American port of call for the Whitbread as they arrive from South America and prepare for the final dash to the finish in Southampton England.

J.P. Reynolds Company, Inc. was honored to be appointed the official Customs Broker and Freight Forwarder for the North American stopovers, responsible for the transportation of the crucial yacht spares and crews effects so vital to a successful campaign.


This year's Volvo Ocean Race - Round the World 2001 - 2002 will cover over 32,250 nautical miles through four oceans over a period of nine months and will have two North American stopovers, the first in Miami and then on to Baltimore / Annapolis before heading back to Europe.

J.P. Reynolds will again be providing for the transportation needs of the racing teams and will endeavor to provide the syndicates with the same expertise and dependable serive as it has in previous round the world races.
